hi i'm mark with proline range hoods and inthis video we want to show you the differences between a ducted range hood and ductless orre-circulating range hood. now the purpose of anyrange hood is to get the heat, the smoke, the odors from the cooking off of the surfaceof the stove out of you way. now the best way to do thatis with a ducted hood. now a ducted hood is going to usethe fan or the blower to remove the air from the cooking surface out of the house throughthe ductwork that you install with your rangehood. now we realize that in some cases, in some buildingenvironments and in some living conditions,
this isn’t possible. like for example, you’rein an apartment complex in new york, you can’tjust drill a hole through your neighbor’s condo to get theoutside of the building. now if your only option is to install a re-circulating rangehood, the principle here is that the smoke will be drawn up throughthe range hood and drawn through some type offiltration system. now that will be either charcoal, paper, or a combination of bothand that filtration system will clean the odor and the greasebefore it’s re-circulated back in the room. now some of ourcompetitors use a very expensive system and
it’s only available through them. you don’twant to pay a hundred to three hundred dollars every timeyou need to change the filters in your ductless hood. sothat’s brings us to one of the most important decisions you’ll make in purchasing yourductless range hood and that’s the filtration system, howthe air is filtered. now we use a simple two part system.our main filter here on the base of the hood is either all stainless or stainless withan aluminum mesh. this is very simple to replace and its dishwashersafe so to clean this, put it in the dishwasher everymonth, every couple of months, whatever your
