ever since i was a baby, i always loved food. what can i say? i love to travel, eat, and try new things. growing up in a suburb of new york city, cuisines from all around the world were just a train ride away. i'll never forget my first time in little italy, walking on the sidewalk, holding my mom's hand as we passed dozens of restaurants on mulberry street. from the street you could smell the garlic, the marinara sauce, and the fresh bread. some of my favorite dishes then and now are brick oven pizza with fresh mozzarella and chicken parmesan. in high school, my teachers would take us on field trip on the subway. they would broaden our horizon and take us to different restaurants, from a spot in the lower east side with food from bangladesh, to greenpoint, a polish area of brooklyn where we would devour pierogis.

but the cuisine i always loved the most was italian food. when i got older i found i had a passion for Cooking, Recipes. i love trying new recipes and challenging myself. last february, during the third snow day in a row i was experiencing serious cabin fever and did a lot of thinking and looking at pinterest. i stumbled upon some Cooking, Recipes blogs and thought, "i could do this!" i established my instagram username, thewannabe italian and have been Cooking, Recipes and posting ever since. i've loved interacting with other home cooks and foodies from china, australia, england and of course, italy. italian food will always be my first love but i'm not afraid to expand my horizons into sushi making and beyond.
