today i will be making green bean and peas sabji. it's a very healthy side dish. it can be served with any kind of dal or curry. this recipe will serve 2-4. i have 1 cup of frozen green peas. which is about 6 oz and i like to use the baby green peas. 2 cups of frozen french cut green beans, about 8 oz. 1 tablespoon of oil 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds


pinch of asafoetida. 1 tablespoon of washed urad dal 4 red chillies 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric 1 tablespoon of corainder powder 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. this is a very easy recipe. heat is on, medium high.


and first i am going to season the oil or make a chaunk. i am going to add the oil and wait for just about a half a minute till oil is hot. oil is hot. so i am going to add the cumin seeds. asafoetida dal chilli stir fry for about a minute.


just make sure the dal has not change the color. going to add the beans. green peas turn down the heat to medium. and cover it and let it cook for about 2-3 minutes, until it's half cook. this has been about 5 minutes. and i have stirred in between about 2 times. so still it's is crunchy and it's cooked.


time to add the salt. turmeric and coriander powder. i add this later on because i like the color of the beans and peas, green. salt you can adjust to your taste. as you see i have not really added any chilli powder because these whole red chilli just leaves enough flavor.


just going to cover it for another 2 minutes. beans looks ready. it has been about 2 minutes. it looks really good and very tempting. turn off the heat. and add the lemon juice. lemon and salt you can adjust to your taste. this is ready to serve. beans and peas they look and smell great.


this dal makes it look very pretty. and i put these red chillies on top so in serving it makes a nice looking dish. i am going to serve this today with plain rice and curry. thank you. and i will see you again with a new recipe.
