easy chicken wings recipe honey garlic
- [voiceover] alright, solet's make our marinade for our chicken wings. remember, these are crispy wings. anyway, got some black pepper, some salt, some granulated garlic.
easy chicken wings recipe honey garlic, i'd rather use that than the power but you can, powder'd be fine. some cayenne pepper fora little bit of spice. now, i'm going to put some hot sauce.
this is the vinegar based stuff. use whatever brand you like. now, we're going to add our buttermilk. and then, we're just going to give this a really good stir to mix everything up. and then we're going to pourour marinade over our chicken, we're going to mix it up really good, and then we're going to put it in the refrigerator for about one hour.
you can go two hours buti would not go over three. you marinade these things too long and the buttermilk's gonna break 'em down and they'll just fall apart. i have some all purpose flour here and we're just going to season that with the same seasonings that we seasoned our marinade with, except i'm not going toput any hot sauce in here.
then, we're going to give this a good mix. and we're going to coat our chicken with the seasoned flour. now don't wash that buttermilk off. just let it kind of drip off a little bit and then we're going to get a nice, thick coat of this flour mixture on here. what we're going to do, we're going to up it on this sheetpan,
we're going to let 'emset for about 10 minutes. and after about 10 minutes, they're gonna look like this. see how you got some dryspots and some wet spots, like right there you got a wet spot? anyway, we're going totake care of that right now and all we're going to do is we're gonna put thesethings back in the flour. this is the same flourthat we were using before. now, whenever i get done doing this part,
i'm gonna throw that flour away. i don't want to save it becauseit's had raw chicken in it. alright, i'm gonna test my oil by putting a littlepiece of flour in there. looks good, i'm wanting a nicegentle fry on this first fry. that's a lot of fries, isn't it? yeah, anyway. if i had a thermometer, i'dbe looking for about 340f. now, as soon as i getsome color on both sides
of this chicken, colorjust about like that, i'm gonna take it out andput it on the wire rack and then i'll start on the next batch. alright, my last batch is done. what i'm gonna do, when i get these out, is i'm gonna crank the heat up to 375. and now that the oil'sup to second fry temp, we're gonna put our first batch of wings back into the oil.
now that we have thisbatch of wings in the oil, we're gonna keep stirring 'em around. i don't want 'em to sit on the bottom because if they do, they'llget black spots on 'em. and i want 'em to have a nicepretty golden brown color all the way around. and then when our wingsget nice and crispy and golden brown, just about like that, we're gonna pull 'em out,
put 'em back on the wire rack. now don't those look good? nice and crispy, nice andhot, little bit spicy. as always, how does it taste? i know one thing, it's hot. i can feel it on my fingers. crunchy, it's got a little bit of heat, it's not hot enough, real spicy, but then again, thatdepends on your spice level.
but this thing is loadedwith flavor, it's moist, absolutely wonderful. please give this a try.
